There’s a lot going on in my busy life and in my
head, and I thought I’d just take the time to update my readers on my book
world – one: because I like to keep you in the know and two: putting it down in
words is kind of like stepping back from a Monet painting. I can see the big
picture rather just a lot of blobs.
Along with organizing my move a few months ago,
and then everything that needed to be organized for my holiday, and then
actually taking time out to go on that holiday (oh I know, poor me having to
organize a holiday – that was sarcasm btw), I’m also Maid of Honor in my best
friend’s wedding this summer so I’ve been organizing the Hen Night
(Bachelorette Party), freaking out about getting the perfect bridesmaid dress,
and marvelling over the superwoman that is my best friend.
This girl is a
full-time (AWESOME) mum, has just been promoted at work and begun training for
said new (full-time) position, has had to move house and is redecorating said
house as we speak, and is in the middle of organizing her wedding that takes
place in August. And I thought I was stressed. Anyhoo, kudos to Ashleen. She
rocks a lot. And has done for the entire sixteen years we’ve known each other. :)
So, with everything that’s been going on this
year, my ambitious writing schedule has kind of suffered. My foray into adult
fiction began sooner than I had intended because, I don’t know about other
writers, but if I have characters in my head who refuse to go away I have to
let them speak, and that’s exactly what’s happened with my Adult contemporary
romance. That doesn’t mean I’m going to let my YA books suffer. Darkness, Kindled (Fire Spirits #4) has
been pushed back a month to accommodate the release of my adult fiction novel,
but this is really for editing purposes. I am going to be hard at work on Darkness, Kindled so fear not Fire Spirits fans… just because I start
a new project doesn’t mean I forget the one I’m already in the middle of.
Anyhoo, I love Ari, Jai, Charlie and the Seven Kings. We’re not done with each
other! So… here’s how things are looking. My adult fiction book is releasing in
September, so Darkness, Kindled is
releasing in November. Still no definite release date on that and I can’t say
right now when there will be.
However, to apologize for the slight delay on
release I will be releasing the ‘Club Scene’ from Scorched Skies (Fire Spirits #2) from Jai’s P.O.V! YAY!
Hot-a-licious :p
Look out for this over the coming weeks.
With Fire
Spirits #4 out in November, that means the fifth book will be releasing
within the first few months of 2013. This pushes the release of Phantasmagoria and Other Stories to
Summer 2013, and I will probably be working on my adult dystopian series in
tandem with this. So for all you fans who have been waiting patiently for Lunarmorte Repercussions, the spin-off
series to the Tale of Lunarmorte
trilogy, we’re now looking at a late 2013/early 2014 start – preferably the
former. And of course there is still the matter of Sneak Thievery, which I’m hoping to be able to write alongside Phantasmagoria. We shall see! Life has a
way of getting in the way of things – which can be seen when you look back at
my original schedule for this year in which I hoped to have every single book in
the Fire Spirits series out by
December. Still, I feel good about being able to release books a few months
after the other rather than having to wait a year in between, so I’m not going
complain :p
So, that’s how things are looking for now. Hope
you’re all looking forward to it! And remember, there’s still time to enter the
Borrowed Ember giveaway!
Love ya

Thank you so much for explaining everything. It's crazy how busy you are!

Side note: finished WoA series last night! Gawd, why can't your characters be real!! I absolutely loved Eden and Noah! Tobe rocked too :-D

P.S. 16 months until the third Divergent book? :(
LOL yeah she blogged the third installment is due to be out fall of 2013. She doesn't want to rush it since its the last one ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh and ps she is releasing a chapter or so from Four's POV. Available for download the first week of August. How awesome is that?!? Love me some Four/Tobias!! More so when he's Four lol
Delete(sorry if you saw this twice, my phone glitched when submitting it the first time and I didn't see it so I replied to my previous comment. Smart phones sometimes don't seem so smart and are a pain, lol)
@Jennifer - ah I see. Oh well. That's cool about the POV from Four though. Definitely downloading that!

Ooooh so many hours of happiness await! If you publish the new book in September, I may be able to spend my entire flight to the USA reading it! Woohoo! Can't wait. Can't wait for the new adult contemp., can't wait for FS4, can't wait for Lunarmorte Repercussions, can't wait for Sneak Thievery! In case I'm being vague, EXCITED!!! xxx
ReplyDelete@Sally - Lol! Yay! That's awesome. I'm so chuffed you're excited for the upcoming releases :)

So... I have to say that I L.O.V.E. your books! All of them! It's authors like you that give me hope and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, so... I wanted to ask, after writing your books, do you hire an editor?
See, I'm writing this series, and have finished the first book in the series (my first book ever) and, I really want to have it edited but it costs like... A trillion dollars (almost) and so, one decides to ask all my favorites indie authors what they did.
Did you not even have an editor or did you?
And if you did/do who do you use?
BTW, I'm super excited for your upcoming adult series! :)
@Mrs. Jones - oh wow, thank you! Over the moon you've been enjoying my books :) As for editing, I do use a professional editor. When I first started out I couldn't afford an editor and so I used a number of friends and family to do copy editing with me. But as soon as I could, I hired an editor. You'll find a link to my editor (who is awesome!) on my sidebar :)
