  9. Just finished it. Thoroughly loved every second of it. Amazing action, emotion and twists. Love reading this series, warriors of ankh series too, because it's not about all the vampire/werewolf craze which unfortunately i have to say is kinda played out too much these days. I like those kind of books too, but love these because of the lore behind them. Patiently waiting for book #4 :))

@Karen - Oh I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Karen. And yeah, it's nice to have a break from the 'norm' in this genre. I enjoy writing something that's so different. Thanks again!

Thank you for such an amazing book! I Absolutely LOVED Borrowed Ember. I finished it in less than a day(fast reader):). I just have a question regarding a quote from the book, the last sentence, from the last chapter before the epliogue.

    !!!SPOLIER ALERT!!!!

After Charlie killed the Labartu Akasha, and was fleeing into the Peripatos....
"The sound of Ari's grief stricken cries drew a grin to his face, and he tightened his fist around the emerald wondering where it would take him next".

What was that grin about? My two opinions are either he was happy that she would grieve for him, or it was a grin from malice. Hopefully the former and not the latter.

I figured i'd ask because it's really been on my mind (as Charlie is one of my favorite characters) :)

  16. @Kimberly - I'm so happy you enjoyed it! :-D

As for Charlie's grin at the end. It's kind of a mix of both. His addiction (to the emerald/his power) has changed the way he perceives things and how he reacts to things. Before he would never have found satisfaction in Ari's pain, but he does here, because... yes, it means he knows that she loves him, even if it isn't the way he wants her to.

    :-)
