Fire Spirits

OK... so in the post below I mentioned a new series I've been working on...

Well, guys, I haven't been this in love with a project in a while... if ever. A goodly while back I was thinking over refreshing concepts, mythology or legends that hadn't been overused in the YA genre and when a certain mythos crossed my mind I went out and bought the non-fiction book Legends of the Fire Spirits: Jinn and Genies from Arabia to Zanzibar by Robert Liebling. This is a fantastic book, even for those who feel their eyes rolling back inside their heads at the thought of reading a non-fiction book. It inspired my new series so much and I'm extremely grateful to Mr Liebling for his thorough and fascinating compilation of Jinn info. It should be noted, however, that for the purposes of my series I have manipulated and changed certain aspects of the mythology to fit my plot.

Anyhoo... without further ado I'd like to introduce you to Book One in the Fire Spirits series, releasing October 21st 2011...

COVER ART BY CLAUDIA MCKINNEY OF PHATPUPPY ART

For the last two years Ari Johnson's life has been anything but normal, and on her 18th birthday, when her friends surprise her with a gimmick genie claiming to grant wishes, Ari discovers the truth. The tragic and strange occurrences surrounding her 16th birthday were not coincidental and her life is never going to be the same again.

Ari's real parents are not normal. They are not loving. They are not human.

They are myth.

They are Smokeless Fire.

They are Jinn.

YA Paranormal Romance for mature teens+ (some content may not be suitable for younger readers).

I've created an entire blog to the Fire Spirits series which you can access via the Fire Spirits page at the page header at the top of my blog. The Fire Spirits blog includes Chapter One of Smokeless Fire as well as Countdown Widgets, Soundtracks and coming soon the book trailer.

I am uber excited about this series guys!! I hope you'll love it :-)

Oh and HUGE thank you to Claudia McKinney of Phatpuppy Art who I commissioned to do the cover art and she just blew me away with this beautiful piece. Thank you, Claudia! You are so talented and awesome :-)
